weight loss product
Extra weight can have an impact on every aspect of your pet’s health, from the progression of degenerative joint disease to organ function. Slentrol is a canine weight loss program designed to safely bring your dog to a healthy weight, which can slow the progression of osteoarthritis and prolong the life of your canine companion. Slentrol works in multiple ways to help your dog lose unhealthy extra weight. When a dog consistently overeats, the signal receptors in the brain that tell them to stop eating are damaged and ultimately your dog does not feel satisfied, even after a full meal. The extra calories are stored as fat in the body. This product works in the small intestine by decreasing appetite and preventing excess fat from being absorbed, resulting in the dog feeling full while eating smaller meals. The goal is to stimulate gradual, sustained weight loss over a period of time. When your dog loses unhealthy extra weight, their activity level will increase, promoting healthy muscle growth and further eliminating detrimental fat from their body. Ultimately, their organ function will increase and together with the weight loss and increase in activity, you can help your dog slow the progression of degenerative joint disease and extend their life.
Slentrol is designed as a program to be monitored by your family practice veterinarian. Monthly weigh-ins for dosage adjustment are necessary, as every pet is different, and the program can be tailored to meet the weight loss needs of every dog. At Azzore, we may prescribe this product if your pet is significantly overweight. We will start your pet on the program and answer any questions you may have. Following the initial prescribing, we will refer back to your general practice DVM for the remainder of the treatment period. If at any time you have any questions, we are always here to help! Dr. Dew and the staff at Azzore want to see your pet live a long and healthy life, and we’re happy to do everything we can to help your dog reduce unhealthy weight.
