We have an abundant supply of stem cells in our body but have poor regenerative tissue repair as adults.

Why?

The answer relates to collagen, the body’s primary extracellular biopolymer. Collagen contains sequences of amino acids which serve as an instruction manual for progenitor and stem cells to repair. As we age, collagen folds into a triple helix causing this instruction manual to become hidden; limiting the ability of existing tissue repair cells (like stem cells) to repair and regenerate tissue.

TR BioSurgical reverse engineered adult collagen (Bioscaffold) is stabilized through copolymerization. Limitations of adult wound repair are overcome by presenting collagen with exposed molecular sequences which then provides prolonged exposure to the “instruction manual” and a controlled, physiological, or fetal-like repair, a phenomenon observed with stem cells, takes place in the affected joint.

Symptoms:

- Difficulty rising

- Lameness before, during or after activity

Indications:

- Hip dysplasia

- Moderate to severe osteoarthritis in canines refractory to “standard” medical therapy

- Elevated hepatic enzymes or renal changes due to NSAID’s

- Unable to pursue total hip replacement

- Client’s inabililty to medicate

Procedure:

Your pet will be placed under general anesthesia for surgical prep. Dr. Dew will verify needle placement with aspiration of joint fluid, then inject Bioscaffold.

After Care:

- Single treatment provides 8-16 months of pain relief and improved function

- Can be taken completely off NSAID’s

- Limit to leash activity for one week
